Observation & Pharmacy Improvements
MIRC Construction Services is renovating approximately 4,357 square feet of existing second-floor space at Boone Memorial Hospital while the surrounding healthcare facility remains in operation.
The project includes four new patient observation rooms with dedicated toilet rooms, along with significant renovations to the hospital’s pharmacy and supporting work areas.
Pharmacy improvements include hazardous and non-hazardous compounding spaces, associated anterooms, pharmacy work areas, casework and supporting building systems.
Construction within the existing hospital requires careful coordination of the architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection work while maintaining separation from ongoing healthcare operations.
PATIENT OBSERVATION
New Observation Spaces
The renovation includes four new patient observation rooms designed to support short-term monitoring and care within Boone Memorial Hospital.
Each observation room includes a dedicated patient toilet room along with new headwall systems incorporating medical gases, power, communications, nurse call and patient lighting.
The new spaces are part of the broader second-floor renovation, expanding Boone Memorial Hospital’s ability to provide patient observation services within the existing facility.
SPECIALIZED PHARMACY RENOVATION
Pharmacy & Compounding Spaces
The second-floor renovation includes significant improvements to Boone Memorial Hospital’s pharmacy, creating updated space for medication preparation, storage and pharmacy operations.
The project includes dedicated hazardous and non-hazardous compounding rooms with separate anterooms, along with pharmacy work areas, supply space and supporting casework.
New finishes, workstations, solid-surface countertops and coordinated building systems support the specialized requirements of the renovated pharmacy environment.
