Barboursville Healthcare Center Breaks Ground

Construction is underway on the new Barboursville Healthcare Center, a 124-bed skilled nursing facility in Cabell County, West Virginia. MIRC CM Services is providing construction management as the project moves from groundbreaking through site development and active construction.
The new facility will provide modern resident care, clinical support, administrative, and operational spaces while expanding long-term care capacity in the Huntington and Tri-State region.

Barboursville Healthcare Center Construction Moves Forward
September 2026 · Construction Progress
Following the August groundbreaking, construction activity advanced at the new Barboursville Healthcare Center in Cabell County. Early work included site grading, earthwork, underground infrastructure, and preparation of the building pad as the 124-bed skilled nursing facility moved into active construction.
St. Mary’s Center for Education Expansion Completed
October 2025 · Project Completion
A new approximately 7,000-square-foot educational wing opened at the St. Mary’s Center for Education, expanding space for healthcare education, training, and professional development. The project continued MIRC’s long-standing involvement with healthcare and institutional construction in the Huntington area.
Pallottine Sisters Riverbank Stabilization Project Completed
2025 · Specialty Construction
MIRC Construction Services completed a major riverbank stabilization project for the Pallottine Sisters in Huntington. The work included a coordinated system of helical piles, anchors, retaining structures, drainage improvements, and site reconstruction designed to protect and restore the riverfront property.
Robert & Lena Shell Outpatient Medical Pavilion Officially Opens
April 2025 · Project Completion
The Robert & Lena Shell Outpatient Medical Pavilion officially opened at Cabell Huntington Hospital following several years of construction. The approximately $55 million project expanded outpatient specialty services and represents one of MIRC Construction Services’ most significant healthcare projects.

Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority Awards Maintenance Facility Contract to MIRC

The Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority awarded MIRC Construction Services the contract for a new maintenance facility in Parkersburg, West Virginia. MIRC submitted the successful $2.527 million bid for the federally supported project, which was developed to provide dedicated maintenance space for the authority’s transit vehicle fleet.

Marshall University School of Pharmacy Opens in Renovated Coon Education Building

Following an extensive renovation of the Robert W. Coon Education Building in Huntington, the facility became the original home of Marshall University’s newly established School of Pharmacy. The approximately $8 million renovation created classroom, experiential learning, study, and support spaces for the new pharmacy program on the campus of the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center.
