A Modern Library Built for Community Connection

MIRC Construction Services delivered the Cox Landing Public Library as a new branch facility for the Cabell County Public Library system. The project created a modern, accessible destination for reading, learning, technology, and community engagement in the Barboursville area.

The contemporary building is defined by its dramatic angled roofline, green entrance canopy, expansive storefront glazing, and welcoming public entrance. Site improvements, landscaping, pedestrian access, and supporting building systems were coordinated into a complete public facility designed for long-term community use.

The new branch library combines open public spaces with a distinctive contemporary exterior that gives the facility a recognizable civic presence. Large areas of glazing introduce natural light while visually connecting the interior with the surrounding landscape.

The project incorporated structural steel, metal and fiber-cement wall panels, storefront and glazing systems, durable interior finishes, site utilities, paving, sidewalks, landscaping, and rain-garden improvements. Together, these elements created an efficient and welcoming public building capable of supporting library services, technology access, and community activities.
