Renovation & Expansion for DESCO’s New University Branch
MIRC Construction Services served as general contractor for the renovation and expansion of DESCO Federal Credit Union’s new University Branch location in Huntington, West Virginia. The project combined renovation of the existing facility with new construction, including a building addition, drive-thru improvements, updated interior spaces, architectural exterior improvements, and coordination for the specialized infrastructure required for banking operations.
Designed by TSHD Architects, the work required coordination of new construction with the existing building, including structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, finish, and site-related improvements.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Renovation, Addition & Branch Improvements
The DESCO University Branch project combined renovation of the existing building with a new building addition and drive-thru canopy. Exterior work included a new entrance, architectural composite panel systems, site and landscape modifications, and related structural and roofing improvements.
Interior work included new finishes, drywall modifications, casework, and renovations throughout the existing facility. MIRC also coordinated the rough openings, power, and finished trim required for specialized banking equipment furnished by others.
The project also required coordination of electrical service, telecommunications pathways, existing-wall modifications, and other infrastructure needed to integrate the new branch improvements with the existing building.
