Preserving a Historic Residence Through Thoughtful Renovation
MIRC Construction Services completed substantial renovations to the Marshall University President’s House in Huntington, West Virginia. The project modernized the residence while preserving the architectural character and distinctive details that make the property an important part of the university’s history
The renovation addressed structural and code-related needs while improving accessibility, functionality, and comfort throughout the residence. Work included extensive kitchen and bathroom renovations, custom cabinetry, interior finish upgrades, building-system improvements, and accessibility modifications to the entrances and first floor
Careful planning and coordination were essential to integrating modern improvements within the historic residence. The completed project preserved the character of the President’s House while preparing it to continue serving Marshall University for years to come
