MIRC Construction Services served as general contractor for the construction of the St. Mary’s Medical Center Boiler Plant in Huntington, West Virginia. Completed in June 2013, the $4.5 million project delivered a purpose-built facility for the hospital’s boiler systems and associated infrastructure.

The project brought together the building, site, mechanical, electrical, controls, fire-protection and supporting utility scopes required for a major healthcare infrastructure facility.

Coordinating a Complex Healthcare Infrastructure Project

As general contractor, MIRC coordinated the construction and infrastructure scopes required to deliver the new boiler plant. The work included the dedicated plant structure, site improvements, piping bridge, mechanical and electrical systems, controls, fire protection, fuel-system components and supporting equipment.

The completed facility provided a purpose-built location for critical boiler equipment serving St. Mary’s Medical Center, bringing multiple specialized construction and utility scopes together within one coordinated project.
