Sean E. Adkins

Sean Adkins brings more than 36 years of construction experience to MIRC Construction Services, with a background spanning field operations, construction inspection, project management, construction management, estimating, and preconstruction leadership.

He began his career as a union carpenter, developing a practical understanding of construction methods, sequencing, productivity, and field conditions. He later advanced into project management, estimating, construction management, and inspection roles with Hager Construction, BBLCarlton, and AMEC.

While with BBLCarlton, Sean served in a Construction Manager as Advisor role on Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, West Virginia. He also worked as a construction management architectural inspector on the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy project in eastern Kentucky. These assignments strengthened his understanding of project coordination, quality control, constructability, scheduling, and the relationship between design decisions and field execution.

In 2010, he joined MIRC Construction Services, where he currently serves as Senior Estimating Executive. Over the course of his career, Sean has prepared and led more than $1.5 billion in construction estimates across healthcare, education, government, commercial, institutional, and public-sector projects throughout the Tri-State area.

At MIRC, Sean plays a central role in estimating and preconstruction. He develops detailed construction estimates, evaluates project scope, coordinates subcontractor and supplier participation, reviews drawings and specifications, identifies constructability concerns, analyzes project risk, and helps establish practical strategies for procurement and project delivery.

His field and office experience give him a well-rounded perspective on how early decisions affect cost, schedule, quality, phasing, and construction risk. He is particularly experienced in evaluating projects within active healthcare and institutional environments, where careful planning, coordination, and continuity of operations are essential.
